IEEE-LEOS Workshop: Start-Up in New Optical Segments
Chairs : Thierry Georges, Oxxius and Philippe Gallion, Ecole
Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST/CNRS,LTCI)
and IEEE/LEOS French Chapter.
Workshop Objectives
The objective of this workshop is to discuss the new sectors of development
for photonic start-ups, including diversification outside the telecommunication
segment. The case of both pre-bubble and recent start-ups will be analysed.
Is diversification key to survive or to build a new business?
Is diversification not in contradiction with the focusing required by investors?
What are the major diversification sectors?
And finally, are VCs ready to invest again in photonic start-ups?
These questions will be debated by invited speakers and attendees.
The workshop is targeted at all photonic engineers and scientists with entrepreneurial
interest and investors and venture capital companies who want to learn more
about this sector.
